Starting from 2022, we have been holding classes on the first and third Saturdays of each month for the convenience of participants.
Classes will be taught by Seiichi Kamata, President of Kappabashi Kamata Hakensha. Seiichi has personally taught knife sharpening to many famous Japanese celebrities, including appearances on programs such as Nippon TV’s It’s Noon! and NHK’s Comedy Duo Look Deep Inside.
*Each application is limited to one participant.
*The class will be conducted in Japanese only. Non-Japanese-speakers may bring an interpreter.
*The Advanced Class is open only to participants who have completed the Introductory Class. If you wish to take the Advanced Class, please make sure to complete the Introductory Class first (both can be taken on the same day).
*To prevent COVID-19, class capacity is temporarily limited.
*The classroom is on the fourth floor of the building. Please note that the classroom is accessible only by stairs. Thank you for your understanding.
Participants will learn the basics of whetstones and knives, then sharpen a practice knife themselves.
