Hello everyone.

Today, I’d like to talk about the new SPG STRIX steel material for this knife.

It is a stunningly beautiful knife, isn’t it? The SPG STRIX knife is priced at a staggering 108,000 yen, making it a true ultra-luxury item.

However, there is a good reason for its high price.

The steel used in this knife is an innovative and unprecedented steel material.

Specifically, it is made from SPG STRIX, a new product developed by Takefu Special Steel.

Even the name itself is striking.

SPG STRIX is a new type of powdered high-speed steel.

Powdered high-speed steel is a variety of steel made using a process that finely and evenly disperses carbides. This process improves sharpness and durability.

The process is also used in well-known conventional steels such as Super Gold 2 and ZDP.

These are types of stainless steel that are more rust-resistant and easier to maintain than regular steel.

Among these, SPG STRIX stands out because its metal base is hard and the blade is consistently rigid. This gives the material the ease of sharpening and superb cutting performance characteristic of carbon steel knives (knives that are prone to rust).

If you actually touch the blades of the knives on display in our shop, you can feel that the edge is sharper than conventional stainless steel.

It is extremely rare for a knife to combine excellent sharpness, long-lasting durability, ease of resharpening, and resistance to rust.

There is no doubt that SPG STRIX knives offer quality that matches their high price.

The manufacturing process for SPG STRIX knives sold by our shop is also excellent.

We commissioned Nakagawa Uchihamono, located in Sakai City, Osaka, to make these knives for us.

Satoshi Nakagawa is a prominent traditional craftsman of Sakai forged knives and a highly skilled artisan.

He is also young and eager to embrace new challenges. Therefore, he is interested in working with new steel materials like SPG STRIX.

Knives crafted using Sakai’s unique forging techniques are not only hard but also highly durable.

Our SPG STRIX knives are masterpieces, crafted without compromise in either materials or process.

Kamata Hakensha will promote the new material SPG STRIX in the hope that it will become widely recognized in the knife industry.

It is truly a pleasure for Kamata Hakensha to handle such excellent knives.

I hope you found this feature informative. I’ll see you next time!
